Tunes, Anyone?

So I finally added a playlist. I won't tell you how (ridiculously) long it took to figure it out. *Sigh* Playing now is a collection of songs from the same artist -not exactly the collection I was planning before I knew my morning would be half-eaten by setting up free accounts, navigating, deciphering html. blah, blah, blah. Stuff teenagers do at the same time they are writing their English essay and playing the Wii. Sheesh.

Here is what I need to know. Forget, for a minute, the time I spent setting it up and subsequent complaining - Do you like playlists on the blogs you read? When you are reading a post do you like to have background music? I'm asking because I don't want to be annoying. At least not on purpose.
So, here's your chance. Tell me.
To keep the Playlist or not to keep the Playlist.
That is the question. (Sorry, Will.)

I personally HATE music on blogs. I always turn my speakers up. Only because I have the TV on while blogging, yup, that's the extent of my multitasking. I left you an award on my blog. Go and pick it up!

I like music on blogs IF I like the music. That makes it hard because how can you please every person that visits your blog? Some will love it, some will hate it. A lot of things I've read about blog etiquette say no to music, at least when it plays automatically. If its there but visitors choose to click it on, then fine. That's not as fun, though. I wanted to have a whole playlist of Taryn's songs--ones that put me into her world when I'm writing, but I hesitate because I don't want to annoy blog readers and I doubt anyone will care about turning it on if its not automatic.

I think it is fine as long as you have to turn the music on by clicking. I listen to an iTunes book or a movie most times when I am looking at blogs. Also, sometimes I need things quiet. People reading at a public places might also need that option. So, while I like the idea of a playlist. I need it to be multitasking friendly. That way I enjoy the music when I can but it doesn't get in the way.
